Beetroot dosa is an impeccable way of adding a vibrant colour and nutrition to your breakfast. Combined with the goodness of fermented dosa batter and fibrous beetroot, you must try this recipe if you are craving South Indian food.

Ingredients

1 cup urad dal 2 cups rice 1 beetroot 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 inch ginger 2 red chillies 1/2 tsp hing Oil for greasing

Step 1

Soak urad dal and rice separately. Grind them, add salt, mix well, and let the batter ferment.

Step 2

Wash, peel, and chop a beetroot into cubes. Grind it with cumin seeds, ginger, and red chillies to make a paste.

Step 3

Add the beetroot paste to the fermented batter with a pinch of hing.

Step 4

Heat a pan, grease it with oil, and pour a spoonful of batter, spreading it in a circle.

Step 5

Cook till the bottom is crisp. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Step 6

Transfer the beetroot dosa to a plate and enjoy with chutney and sambar.
