Pizza cravings are real, and once they hit, it is difficult to resist the temptation to indulge in the cheesy comfort of a slice of 'za. Here are some ways in which you can make healthy pizza at home to cut down a few calories.
If you are making pizza crust at home, go for a whole wheat crust or a pizza base made of millets for a slightly low-calorie, healthy version.

Top the ragi crust with tons of veggies rich in fibre and antioxidants including bell peppers, zucchini and tomatoes to make toppings that are nourishing and healthy.

Do away with processed cheese loaded with preserves. Instead go for lighter variants like mozzarella and low-fat parmesan that are aged for a lesser duration.
Making pesto or tomato sauce for pizza is a quick fix to get rid of the preserves found in packaged bottles. Whip up a healthy pesto to lather onto the pizza crust.
If you are opting for a whole wheat or ragi crust, use a tava to make a pan pizza roasted in freshly churned white butter. This will give the crust a delightful crisp while loading it with healthy fats.
Use generous amounts of proteins like shredded chicken and some greens like spinach and broccoli as pizza toppings. This will also fulfil your daily protein intake.
While preparing toppings, adjust spice levels in a way that retains the flavours of meats and veggies and ensures that maximum nutrients can be absorbed by the body.
