The coastal region of India is nothing short of a culinary gem when it comes to finding seafood recipes. Kerala’s fish curry is one such dish. It is flavourful and spicy. If you are craving this dish, make it at home in just a few simple steps.
3 tablespoons coconut oil 2 tablespoons red chilli powder 10-12 curry leaves ½ teaspoon mustard seeds 2-3 pieces of Kudampuli 4-5 chopped onions 1-2 slit green chillies Salt to taste 600 gm fish 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon coriander powder ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder ⅛ teaspoon fenugreek seeds ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
Heat oil in a pan, and add curry leaves and mustard seeds to it. Once they crackle, add onions, ginger-garlic paste, and green chillies.
Once onions turn brown, add coriander powder, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, fenugreek seeds, and red chilli powder along with a few splashes of water.
As soon as the spices are roasted, add more water and kudampuli. Bring this mixture to a boil.
Add fish and salt to taste the curry. Allow the ingredients to cook for 8-10 minutes on low flame.
Turn off the flame and keep the curry aside for a couple of hours for the flavours to get infused into the fish.
Heat the dish again before serving with rice or parotta.
