Popular in Rajasthan, baati is a type of bread baked with whole wheat flour and ghee. This traditional Rajasthani treat is a pure delight to eat because it is both crispy on the exterior and soft on the inside. The skill of preparing delicious baati may require some experience, but here are some simple ways that may be helpful the next time you find it difficult to create baati at home.
To make sure that your baatis have the proper texture, start by thoroughly kneading the dough. Never work with a smooth dough; always work with a stiff one so that it can hold its shape.
Traditionally, baatis are prepared in a tandoor. But, baking them is also preferable since the majority of us lack access to a tandoor.
When cooking batis, ghee is one ingredient you must not compromise on. It enhances their flavour and gives them a richer flavour. Remember to use enough ghee rather than water when rubbing the dough.
Yogurt is another component that might help you create the best baatis at home. You can mix in 1-2 teaspoons of yoghurt while kneading the dough. This also contributes to improving the baatis' flavour.
