Peas is one of the integral parts of winter meals in India. Be it curry, paratha or snacks, they always add a great taste and texture to the recipe. Here are six tips to keep peas fresh for a long time.

Rinse the peas well to remove the dirt and then dry them with a clean towel before storing.

Avoid storing green peas with fruits like apples and bananas. This is because the ethylene present in them can increase the ripening process of the vegetable.

Peel the green peas and mix them well with mustard oil. Then put them in a polyethene, tie it and store in the fridge.

Boiling the peas for two minutes and then storing them in an airtight container will keep them fresh for up to one year.
