Instead of using high-pressure water to wipe off dirt and dust from mushrooms, you should use wet paper towels. It will prevent the vegetable from tearing apart before you begin cooking.

Mushrooms do not require to be soaked in water for long hours. You should opt for a quick cleaning process. Rinsing under tap water is enough to clean them.

To clean excessive dirt from mushrooms, you can use a brush with soft bristles. You don’t have to buy a new one because an old pastry brush can help to complete this task.

Since mushrooms are porous, use as little water as possible for cleaning. If you use more water for cleaning, they will become spongy, and not achieve a crispy texture while cooking.
