Most of us cook rice in the pressure cooker for convenience. But cooking rice in an open pot has several health benefits including good digestive system and weight loss. So, here is the right way to cook rice according to ayurveda.
Wash the rice at least 2-4 times before cooking as this helps get rid of the dirt and other impurities.
Boil water and add rice in the ratio of 1:4 (rice: water ratio).
Cook the rice for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
After the rice is cooked, drain excess water and cover it with a lid. Let it stay for 10 minutes. Serve warm.
