Our fridges are gadgets we both underuse and overuse. There are foods that we refrigerate without knowing if we really should. Worry not as the jury's out on this confusion! Here are foods that must be refrigerated.

Citrus Fruits 

All the citrus fruits do best in the fridge because the cooler temperature prevents them from drying out.

Tomatoes

The VIPs of the hour, tomatoes, over time, will crumble into themselves and start attracting insects so it's better to keep them in the fridge.

Corn 

Keeping corn in the fridge helps to slow out the drying process. You can store them in a plastic bag.

Eggs

Refrigerating eggs will minimize the risk of salmonella, which causes bacterial food poisoning. Take them out 30 minutes before cooking and you're good to go.

Cheese 

Cheese can accumulate mold in hotter temperatures. They must be stored in the fridge and never in the freezer.

They have acid that prevents bacteria that rots the food and hence, need to be refrigerated.

To make the butter easier to spread on bread, don’t keep it out of the refrigerator. The oil in the butter will grow rancid if left at room temperature for too long.
