Coconut chutney is the ultimate companion for South Indian dishes like dosa, idli, vada, uttapam, and more. It is creamy, boasts a nutty flavour, and tastes delicious. Here is how to make it at home.
½ cup coconut ¼ inch ginger ½ cup coriander leaves ½ tsp cumin, mustard seeds 2 green chillies 2 tbsp fried chana, urad dal 1 tbsp tamarind pulp Salt as needed 1 tsp oil 1 broken red chilli 7-8 curry leaves A pinch of hing
Add coconut, green chillies, a pinch of cumin seeds, chana dal, urad dal, tamarind pulp, coriander leaves, and ginger in a blender.
Add some water for the consistency and grind the ingredients into a smooth paste.
You can also add some curd for creaminess and sourness.
Prepare a tempering of oil, curry leaves, red chillies, and a pinch of hing.
Pour the tempering on the coconut blend and serve it with idli.
