Coconut Burfi is a classic Indian sweet that is easy to make and perfect for any festival. Made with fresh coconut, sugar, and ghee, it offers a nutty flavour and a soft, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Follow these 5 simple steps to make it at home.
2 cups fresh coconut 1 cup sugar ½ cup milk 1 tbsp ghee ¼ tsp cardamom powder Chopped nuts
In a pan, combine grated coconut, sugar and milk. Cook on medium heat and stirring constantly.
Keep stirring until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan and forms a dough-like consistency.
Stir in the ghee and cardamom powder, and mix well for another 2 minutes.
Pour the mixture into a greased tray and flatten it evenly. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
Let it cool, then cut into squares or diamond shapes.
