Cocktail Hour: What Should You Drink With Indian Food?

By Jasmine Kaur

While making cocktails itself is an art, pairing them with the right kind of food is a task too. Given the hefty flavours of Indian food, here’s what you should be drinking with it.

Mulled Wine

This classic winter cocktail made with red wine, sugar and spices goes well with meaty curries like rogan josh as well as beef kebabs.

Gin And Tonic

A great palate cleanser that balances the spicy Indian food, G&T is a perfect accompaniment for dishes like vindaloo and spicy chicken curries.

Masala Vodka Soda

Filled with a host of Indian spices, this boozy masala soda is the ideal drink for fried snacks like samosas and milder items like aloo gobhi, baigan bharta etc.

Cardamom Cordial

Made with cardamom syrup, vodka and lime juice, this one is perfect for zesty flavours of fish curry and tandoori dishes like tandoori shrimp and tikkas.

Chai Latte Martini

A vodka-based creamy chai cocktail, this martini is a great pairing for rich Indian foods like malai kofta, Kashmiri pulao, butter chicken and more.
