In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of almonds, ½ cup of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of water over medium heat.
Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves, creating a syrup that coats the almonds.
Continue cooking until the syrup caramelizes, giving the almonds a golden hue.
Spread the almonds on a parchment-lined tray, separating them to prevent clumping as they cool.
