Chowpatty Beach in Mumbai is synonymous with scenic sunsets and aromatic street wood. Pav Bhaji is a famous Mumbai street food that you can easily make in your kitchen with this Chowpatty-style recipe.
1 cup water 3 tablespoons oil 1 tablespoon butter 1 onion 1 green chilli 1 inch ginger 1 clove garlic 1 tomato 2 potatoes 1/2 cup peas 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1.5 tablespoons pav bhaji masala 1 teaspoon coriander powder Salt to taste Coriander leaves for garnishing 8 pav buns
Saute chopped onion and green chilli. Mix in ginger, garlic, and tomatoes. Cook till fragrant.
Mix in turmeric powder, red chilli powder, pav bhaji masala, and coriander powder.
Add mashed potatoes, peas, and salt. Pour 1 cup water and let the mixture simmer.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves, onions, and butter.
Toast the pav till they are golden brown. Serve with hot bhaji.
