Indian pickles, known as "achar", are prepared with the common goal of preserving flavours and enhancing dishes. The values of tradition and taste are deeply rooted in the preparation of different types of pickles throughout India. Here are 10 types of pickles in India.

"Aam ka Achar"- mango pickle, holds a special place in every Indian cuisine. Raw mangoes, with their unique tanginess blended with spices, which infuses the pickle with flavours.
Indian Hog Plum, called "Amtekai" in South India, is known for its distinct sweet and sour flavour. The fruit is sliced and then pickled with a blend of spices, including mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, and red chilli powder.
Amla pickle, crafted from Indian gooseberries, is a beloved pickle in India. These small, green fruits are combined with a blend of traditional spices and oil to create a flavorful condiment.
Imli pickle is a prominent condiment in South Indian cuisine, paired with curd rice, dosas, idlis, and sambar. It is a power-packed, yummiest vitamin C addition to your meal. It has a strong, tangy-sweet taste that sets it apart from lemon or any other pickle.
Onion pickles, a beloved condiment in Indian cuisine, has been enjoyed for generations. The preparation of onion pickles can vary significantly. You can add spice and ferment them, or thinly slice and then soak in a mixture of vinegar and sugar before your meal.
Pineapple pickle is popular in various parts of India, but it is particularly enjoyed in the southern states and coastal regions. These pickles are a delightful addition to Bisi Bele Bath, Avial, and Chicken Curry.
Known for their fiery and aromatic taste, Rajasthani chilli pickles, or Lal Mirch Ka Achaar, are undeniably enticing. Best enjoyed with Daal Baati Churma, Gatte Ki Sabzi, and Papad Ki Sabzi.
If you were planning to experiment with pickles and expand your taste palate, then bamboo shoot pickles are a perfect addition. A Northeastern delicacy, these pickles are made from tender bamboo shoots that are found abundantly in the region.
Singhade ka achar is a fresh pickle that is yummy to eat while it carries a bite to it. Each water chestnut is peeled in a specific way so as to keep the soft parts of the skin on and to remove the hard horns, also to remove the tip from both ends to allow the pickling spices to seep in.
Made with fresh carrots, green chilies, ginger, Indian pickle spices, sugar, and tamarind. Carrot pickle is crunchy, spicy, with a balance of sweet and sour taste.
