Falafel is usually the best starter and snack to serve your guests with a couple of options among dips. They are easy to cook in a short span of time and the melt-in-the-mouth experience makes all effort worth it. Here is a quick recipe for chickpea falafel.
1 medium onion 2 cups dry chickpeas 1.5 tsp cumin powder 4-6 garlic cloves 1 tsp black pepper 2 tbsp chickpea flour 1 tbsp coriander leaves ½ tsp baking soda ½ tsp red chilli powder Oil for frying 1 tsp coriander powder Salt to taste
Soak chickpeas overnight and boil them the next morning with salt and a little amount of oil.
Prepare a coarse and thick mixture of spices, flour, and chickpeas in the food processor.
Taste the mixture and adjust the salt at this stage.
Grease your palms with oil and make small balls from the mixture.
Refrigerate falafel for an hour. Meanwhile, prepare your favourite dips.
Deep-fry or air-fry falafel and serve them with tea and dips.
