Among different kadhi varieties enjoyed in India, batkar kadhi is a specialty from Chhattisgarh. Recently, Chef Anahita Dhondy took to Instagram and shared the recipe of Chhattisgarh's special batkar kadhi. TAP TO VIEW THE DETAILED RECIPE!

1 cup masoor dal 1 tomato 1 cup curd 1 tbsp besan 1 tsp turmeric 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp fenugreek seeds 1 tsp mustard seeds 3 to 4 dry red chilies 4 to 5 cloves Handful of curry leaves Handful of coriander leaves Salt to taste 1 tsp sugar or jaggery 1.5 tsp oil

Cook the pre-soaked masoor with tomato and 1/2 tsp salt in a pressure cooker. Put off the flame after two whistles.

When done, open the cooker remove the tomato skin, and mash it with the masoor. Keep aside.

Take a bowl and add curd, besan, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt to taste. Add water and stir well.

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard & fenugreek seeds. Add garlic and dry red chilies and fry them till brown and smokey.

Now, add curry leaves, cooked masoor, and tomato. Cover the pan immediately.

After 2 mins, remove the lid and add the curd mixture. Stir well and let cook for 5 minutes.

Add tsp of sugar or jaggery and let cook for about 5 more mins. Add coriander leaves and serve!
