Kheer is a staple dessert that is popularly made across the country for special occasions. Among the traditional dishes for Chhath Puja, kheer is a celebrated one. Here’s how to make it.
1 cup rice 3 cups milk 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup chopped almonds 1/4 cup chopped pistachios 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder 1 tablespoon ghee
Mix rinsed rice and milk and boil it. Let the mixture simmer till the rice is soft.
Stir in the sugar and cardamom powder. Cook till the milk thickens.
Mix in chopped almonds and pistachios. Drizzle some ghee on the top.
Let the kheer cool and serve to celebrate Chhath Puja.
