Commonly known as Nariyal, Coconut is used in ayurveda for therapeutic reasons. It has several benefits. It is rich in calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, vitamin C and other nutrients. It benefits both the skin and the hair. Check out some of its properties

Rasa – Madhura  

Coconut is sweet in state and helps nourishing and strength the body as works as coolant.  

Guna – Guru, Snigdha

Coconut is heavy in digestion. It is heavy, oily and unctuous.  

Virya – Sheeta  

Coconut works as a coolant and keeps the body hydrated.  

Vipaka – Madhura

Coconut undergoes sweet taste conversion after digestion.  

Karma – Vata, Pitta, Hara

The cold fruit is known to treat vata, pitta and hara dosha. It helps the body to remain cool during the hot days.
