Summer is here and you'll often find yourself treating with two common summer drinks - Chaas and Lassi. They both are not only super hydrating but also packed with numerous health benefits. However, this to drinks looks quite similar and can be super confusing to distinguish them. Thus, we have collated the major differences between chaas and lassi:
Chaas is usually thinner in consistency and is made suing more water. Lassi, on the other hand, is thick and has creamy texture.
Chaas is saltier as it is made using variety of masalas while lassi is either sweet or a mix of both salt and sweet.
Chaas is usually the liquid that is left when butter is churned out of cream. Lassi is made by blending yogurt with water or milk.
Chaas is the staple drink of Gujarat and Rajasthan while lassi is found in northern parts of India, especially Punjab.
Chaas is usually consumed as a digestive drink after meal to improve digestion while lassis is consumed along with the meals as an indulgent drink.
Chaas is considered to be healthier as it contains fewer calories and has less fat as compared to lassi. The addition of sugar and artificial flavours in lassi, diminish their nutritional value.
