Summer months are here and it is important to keep us hydrated and cool. However, some foods cause dehydration in the body. It is cause by losing fluid from the body or not drinking enough fluid. It can cause problems like dizziness, headache, tiredness, etc. Thus here we have listed foods that cause dehydration in summer season: 

Celery

It is a diuretic food that promotes urine production and potentially contribute to dehydration without sufficient fluid intake.

Beetroot 

It is high in potassium which can help in releasing fluid from the body. If eaten in large amount, it can cause dehydration. 

Soy Sauce 

It contains lots of sodium which absorbs water from other cells, leaving the body hydrated. It can prove to be harmful when taken in large amount. It only enhances the taste of the food. 

Diet Soda

A can of soda, be it coke or sprite may quench your thirst but the high sugar content has a hypernatremic effect , that is, it draws water from the tissues. They also contains caffeine which causes a mild diuretic impact.

Desserts

All sorts of desserts, from cookies to ice creams may cause dehydration as added sugar will cause the body to excrete fluids.

Pickles 

As they are loaded with sodium, it can lead to dehydration by forcing the body to pull water from other cells.

Alcohol

They are considered diuretic. It squeezes all water from our cells.

Coffee 

It is also diuretic in nature. Having more than two cups of coffee can lead to dehydration in summer.
