Baked kachori is a healthier alternative to the deep-fried classic. Perfect for the festive season, this crispy, flavourful snack brings all the joy of traditional kachori with fewer calories and less oil.
1 cup whole wheat flour ¼ cup all-purpose flour ¼ cup oil Salt to taste 1 cup urad dal (soaked) 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp fennel seeds 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp coriander powder
Mix flour, salt, and oil to form a dough. Rest for 15 minutes. Sauté cumin and fennel seeds, add soaked dal, spices, and cook filling.
Roll small dough balls, fill with dal mixture, and seal. Preheat oven to 180°C, bake kachoris for 20-25 minutes until golden.
Serve hot with chutney.
