Once you purchase a cast iron pan, washing it using a mild dishwash soap and warm water is necessary. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth after to ensure that it is completely dry.
Once your cast iron utensil has been wiped gently, warming it up on a low flame to allow any residual moisture to evaporate is necessary. This prevents formation of rust.
Once the pan is completely moisture-free, adding a few drops of oil and wiping the surface of the pan with a silicone brush or paper towel, while it’s still warm makes it ‘non-stick’.
While it is important to clean and season your skillet, storing it along with other utensils can be tricky. Placing a thin paper towel or piece of clean cloth on the surface can save from any scratches or friction marks on your pan.
