Make a delicious homemade caramel custard, a creamy dessert topped with rich, golden caramel. It's easy to prepare and a treat the whole family will enjoy!
1 tbsp regular water 1/2 cup white sugar 1 tbsp hot water 1 cup milk 2 beaten eggs
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Heat 1 tbsp water and ¼ cup sugar until golden brown without stirring.
Add 1 tbsp hot water to the caramel, then remove it from the heat.
Heat milk and 5 tbsp sugar over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
Whisk the beaten eggs into the warm milk mixture. Pour the caramel into a baking dish, followed by the egg-milk mixture.
Bake in a water bath for 45 minutes until the custard sets.
