Broccoli Coffee; A Low-Calorie Drink

By Aanchal Mathur

Also known as Broc-Coffee, this beverage is by far known to be one of the best ways to consume the leafy vegetable.

A great alternative for anyone who love experimenting, broccoli coffee has been hailed for its many benefits beyond weight loss.

This coffee trend started out at an Australian cafe named ‘Common Folk’ before taking the internet by storm.

The Baristas at Common Folk integrated the concentrated broccoli powder into their coffee and called it a ‘Broccolatte’. This unique pairing became a rage.

Apparently, just by adding 2 tbsp of broccoli powder to your coffee you’re consuming one whole portion of the veggie.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons broccoli powder 1 cup whole milk 2 oz fine ground espresso

Ingredients

2 tablespoons broccoli powder 1 cup whole milk 2 oz fine ground espresso

To make fresh broccoli powder, wash and cut broccoli into small parts and dry them completely under the sun.

Once completely dry, add them to a grinder jar and grind them to make a fine powder. Store it in a tight-fitted jar.

For coffee, prepare a shot of espresso. In a coffee cup, whisk together the espresso and the broccoli powder.

Using a milk steamer, stovetop pan, or microwave-safe jar, heat the milk until it's hot but not boiling.

Pour the hot milk into the broccoli mixture and stir thoroughly. If desired, sweeten to taste.  Stir and enjoy!
