These dangerously addictive and fluffy doughnuts with a sweet-fruity guava cream cheese filling is your ultimate deep-fried-food fantasy!
1.5 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon yeast ¼ cup warm milk 3 tablespoons melted butter 1 egg 2 + 1 tablespoon sugar Oil, for frying
1 cup cream cheese ½ cup condensed milk 2-3 tablespoons guava jam ½ cup whipping cream
Start off by whisking the cream cheese until soft and add the guava jam and condensed milk and fold in.
Whip the cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form and fold it in gently with the cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate until further use.
Mix a tablespoon of sugar with the warm milk and allow the yeast to bloom in it. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
Add the sugar and flour to a stand mixer and mix together before adding the egg, followed by the yeast mixture.
Mix for 8 minutes, until a sticky dough forms. If the dough is too moist, add some more flour by the spoonful.
Rest for two hours before dividing into equal pieces and using the lid of a jar to cut round shapes of the dough.
Heat the oil and drop them in gently to fry until golden brow on both sides.
Cool lightly on a wire rack before rolling them in sugar and making a hole in the bottom to fill the guava cream cheese.
Serve when fresh and at room temperature.
