"Thatte Idli" is a popular South Indian dish, very famous in Bengaluru, that gets its name from the shape of the idli, which resembles a traditional "thatte" or plate. Here is a simple recipe.
1 cup rice flour 1 cup thick yogurt (curd) 1/4 cup grated coconut 1/2 teaspoon baking soda Salt to taste Water, as needed Oil or ghee for greasing
Mix 1 cup rice flour, 1 cup thick curd, 1/4 cup grated coconut. Rest the batter for for 30 mins.

Add salt, 1/2 tsp baking soda and mix. everything. Then, Grease flat idli plates, not the smaller moulds.

Pour the batter on the plates, steam for 10-12 mins. Serve hot with chutney, podi or sambar.
