Made with brandy and lemon juice, this classic cocktail gained a huge popularity in the 19th century. Here is the recipe, make it at home.
1 cup ice 2 ounces brandy 2 dashes rum 2 dashes orange curacao liqueur ¾ ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice 3 dashes simple syrup, or more to taste 1 ounce soda water
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add brandy, rum, curacao, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and top with soda water.
