Bored Of Eating Porridge? Try This Daliya Pulao Instead

Keeping a healthy diet isn’t easy when most of the healthy recipes are excruciatingly bland and boring. If you are tempted to slip back to unhealthy guilty pleasures, then here’s an interesting daliya pulao recipe for you! After trying this recipe, you won't look at daliya the same way again.

Ingredients

1 cup daliya 1 tablespoon oil or ghee 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 small onion, finely chopped 1 small carrot, diced 1 small potato, diced 1/4 cup green peas 1 small tomato, chopped 2 cups water Salt to taste 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon garam masala Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Step 1

Wash daliya thoroughly, drain it and set aside.

Step 2

Heat oil in a deep pan and add cumin seeds and chopped onions. Saute it until it becomes translucent.

Step 3

Add diced carrots, potatoes, green peas, and chopped tomatoes. Saute for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and salt. Mix it well and saute for one minute.

Add washed daliya and mix well to let the flavours combine.

Pour water and stir it well. Bring it to a boil. Once starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes or cook for 2 whistles if using a pressure cooker.

Step 7

Once cooked, fluff the pulao with a fork and garnish with fresh coriander leaves for serving.
