This is a popular Indian dish made from thinly sliced okra, coated in a spicy mixture of gram flour and rice flour. Deep-fried until golden brown, it offers a crunchy texture and flavourful taste, making it a delightful side dish or snack.
250 gms bhindi 2 tbsp gram flour (besan) 1 tbsp rice flour 1 tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp coriander powder ½ tsp garam masala 1 tbsp lemon juice Salt Oil
Wash the bhindi and pat them dry completely. Thinly slice them lengthwise.
In a mixing bowl, add the sliced bhindi, gram flour, rice flour, red chilli powder, turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, and lemon juice.
Coat the Bhindi and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.Fry the bhindi in batches on medium heat. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
Fry the bhindi for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove them onto a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Sprinkle a pinch of chaat masala and serve the crispy bhindi fry hot with rice, dal, or as a snack.
