Made with semolina and wheat flour, bhakras are sweet, crunchy on the outisde and soft inside for the perfect balance of flavours and textures. Perfect to munch on along with your afternoon tea.
500 grams of Whole wheat flour 150 grams of Rava 100 grams of Powdered sugar ½ tsp Nutmeg powder 1 tsp Cardamom powder 8-10 Cashew nuts 1 cup of Yoghurt 4 tablespoons of Oil Salt to taste
Begin by combining the whole wheat flour and rava in a mixing bowl.
To the flour and rava mixture, add nutmeg powder, cardamom powder, powdered sugar, salt, oil, and cashew nuts.
Add the yoghurt and mix until it comes ogether, then knead until it forms a cohesive dough. Let it rest for 3-4 hours to prove.
After the dough has fermented, shape it into thick balls. Fry these balls over medium heat until they turn a lovely golden brown on all sides.
Serve the delicious bhakras with hot ginger tea, perfect for enjoying on a winter afternoon.
