A hard and chewy roti can be a turn-off. And if you want your roti to not be anything else but comforting and delicious, we have some easy hacks to make soft rotis.
Quality of flour
It is always better to use fresh mill flour or chakki ka atta for soft rotis. If using packaged flour, make sure to pass it through a sieve.
Kneading the dough
Kneading the dough give the rotis the required texture. Knead the dough by hand, and make sure you let it rest for at least 15 minutes.
Rolling
While rolling the rotis, make sure you flatten the edges with your hands first. Ensure that the surface is dry and dust it properly before rolling the rotis.
Roasting
Heat a tawa 2-3 minutes before you start rolling a roti. When on the tawa, flip the roti once you start seeing bubbles. Press the edges from a dry cloth till you get a perfectly puffed roti.
