Luchi Cholar Dal is a traditional Bengali breakfast dish that is both delicious and satisfying. Perfect for starting your day with a burst of flavour.
2 cups of refined flour Oil, as needed Salt to taste Water 2 cups cholar dal 1 tsp. red chilli and garam masala powder 1/4 tsp. chole masala
1 bay leaf 1/2 tsp jeera 3 chopped tomatoes and green chillies 1 tsp dry fenugreek leaves Pinch hing 1/2 cup chopped coconut
Soak cholar dal overnight, then boil in a pressure cooker with one whistle.
Heat a pan, fry chopped coconut, then set aside. Add bay leaf, jeera, and hing; fry briefly.
Add chopped tomatoes, green chillies, red chilli powder, chole masala, garam masala, and fenugreek leaves; mix well.
Add boiled cholar dal to the mixture and cook. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and one teaspoon oil; add water to form a dough.
Rest the dough for 20 minutes, then make small balls, roll them out, and deep fry in hot oil.
