Beetroot, the root vegetable, is known for its nutritious content and deep red colour. To make your evening snack healthier, you can make crispy beetroot tikkis with this step-wise guide.
2 beetroots 1 cup potatoes 1/2 cup peas 1 onion 1 green chilli 1 teaspoon ginger 1 teaspoon jeera 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder Salt to taste 1 tablespoon besan Oil for frying
Boil potatoes, beetroots, and peas. Mash them together.
Chop onion, green chilli and ginger and mix with mashed vegetables.
Mix in besan, cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and salt.
Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into tikkis.
Heat some oil and half-fry the beetroot tikkis till crispy. Serve hot with your favourite chutney.
