If you are tired of eating plain wheat chapati, it is time to add a delicious and nutritious tweak to the traditional recipe. Beetroot will not only turn flatbreads pink but also make them healthy for everyday consumption.
2 cups flour of your choice ½ cup pureed beetroot Water as needed A pinch of salt
Sift the flour of your choice through a sieve. Try this recipe with wheat flour first.
Add a pinch of salt and pour beetroot puree.
Combine the ingredients nicely. Add water gradually while kneading.
Allow the dough to rest. Cover it with a wet cloth.
Pull apart a small piece of dough, shape it into a sphere, and coat it with dry wheat flour.
Roll into a disc and put it on a hit tawa. Roast the roti on high flame until it fluffs up and enjoy with dal or gravy.
