Beetroot kebabs are made with grated beetroots, mashed potatoes, and aromatic spices. These flavourful patties are shallow-fried and are a healthy alternative to traditional meat kebabs or deep-fried vegetarian appetisers or snacks.
2 beetroots 1 potato 1 onion 2-3 green chillies 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 1/2 cup breadcrumbs 1/4 cup gram flour (besan)
2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1/2 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp red chilli powder Salt Oil
Grate the beetroots and squeeze out excess water using a clean kitchen cloth or paper towel.
In a mixing bowl, combine the grated beetroot, boiled and mashed potatoes, finely chopped onions, green chilies, and ginger-garlic paste.
Add cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Mix in fresh coriander leaves, breadcrumbs, and gram flour.
Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a round or oval patty. Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
Shallow fry the kebabs for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Serve with mint chutney, yoghurt dip, or sauce.
