A healthy addition to chilla is tweaking its recipe to incorporate winter vegetables like beetroot. It is rich in vitamins, fibre, minerals, and antioxidants. Here is a recipe for beetroot chilla you must try.
½ cup semolina 1 chopped bell pepper 1.5 cups besan 1 tsp fennel, carrom 1 tsp coriander powder ¼ tsp turmeric ½ tsp red chilli powder 1 chopped onion 2 medium beetroots 1 chopped green chilli 1-inch ginger 3 cups water Salt, pepper to taste Oil as needed 2 tbsp chopped coriander
Peel and roughly chop beetroots and cook them for 15 minutes.
Once the beets are cooked, let them cool off and blend in a food processor.
Combine beetroot puree with besan, semolina, herbs, spices, salt, and other ingredients.
Heat a skillet and spread a thin layer of this chilla batter.
Top it with oil and onions. Let the base cook and get crispy.
Fold the chilla and enjoy it with chutney.
