Tea-time Butter Cookies are a delicious, bakery-style treat made with just four simple ingredients. Perfectly buttery and crisp, these cookies are an excellent accompaniment to your afternoon tea.
1 cup wheat flour 1/4 cup powdered sugar 1/2 cup butter 1/4 tsp salt
Preheat the oven to 180°C for 10 minutes. In a mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup of room temperature butter and 1/4 cup powdered sugar.
Beat the mixture well with a whisk until it becomes creamy. Sieve 1 cup of wheat flour and 1/4 tsp salt into the bowl.
Mix the ingredients with your fingertips to form a soft dough. Shape the dough into a log, cling wrap it, and refrigerate for at least an hour.
Slice the dough into 1/4-inch thick pieces and place them on a baking tray. Prick each cookie with a fork to prevent puffing.
Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes until the edges start to brown. Let the cookies cool completely before storing them.
