Baisakhi 2023: Easy Recipe To Make Peele Chawal For The Festival

Also known as meethe chawal, this sweet dish is made with basmati rice, sugar, saffron and dry fruits. Here is an easy recipe for you, add it to your Baisakhi treat.

Ingredients

2 cups basmati rice, 1 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 tbsp ghee, 3-4 green cardamoms, 1 black cardamom, 6-7 cloves, 1 inch cinnamon, 7-8 black peppercorns, 1 tbsp almonds (chopped), 10 tbsp almonds (blanched and peeled), 1 tbsp cashews, 4 cups carrot juice, 4 cup orange juice, a pinch saffron

Step 1

Heat ghee in rice cooker. Add green cardamoms, black cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and peppercorns and sauté for a minute.

Step 2

Add almonds, cashews and rice and mix lightly. Add carrot and orange juice and mix.

Step 3

Add saffron, cover and cook till half done. Add sugar and mix well. Cover and cook till fully done. Serve hot.
