Authentic Tribal Turnip Achar From Jharkhand To Taste

Ingredients

1 kg turnips boiled 1 cup mustard oil 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon asafoetida 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup water

Step 1

Heat mustard oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, and boiled turnips.

Step 2

Add water and salt to the pan. 

Step 3

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the water evaporates and the turnips are well-coated with the spices.

Step 4

Let the achar cool completely before transferring it to an airtight glass jar. 

Step 5

Store in a cool, dry place.
