Paneer Paratha is a North Indian flatbread stuffed with spiced, grated paneer, made with whole wheat flour. Traditionally from Punjab, it’s a wholesome, flavourful breakfast choice perfect for any day.
2 to 2.25 cups whole wheat flour ⅔ cup water (adjust as needed) 1 tsp ghee or oil ½ tsp salt 200 g paneer (grated) 1-2 green chillies, finely chopped ½ tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp garam masala ½ to ¾ tsp dry mango powder ½ tsp salt (adjust as needed) Ghee or oil for roasting
Combine flour, salt, and ghee in a bowl. Add water gradually, kneading to a soft dough.
Let the dough rest, covered, for 20 minutes. Prepare stuffing by mixing grated paneer with chillies, spices, and salt.
Divide the dough into small balls and roll two portions into 4-inch circles.
Place the paneer filling on one circle, leaving a 1-inch edge. Cover with the second circle.
Seal the edges and roll the stuffed dough to a 6-7 inch circle.
Heat a tava, place the paratha, and cook each side with ghee until golden brown spots appear.
