Ashtami Special: Easy Chana Recipe To Pair With Halwa And Poori

Ingredients

1½ cups black chickpeas ¾ tsp salt ½ tsp red chili powder ½ tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp cumin seeds 1½ tsp coriander powder 3 tbsp oil 1 tbsp chopped coriander

Step 1

First, rinse the kala chana under tap water. Then, soak the black chickpeas in 3 cups of water for at least 6 hours.

Step 2

Heat oil in a pan and add oil. Add cumin seeds and add in the soaked chana.

Step 3

Add turmeric powder, salt, and 5 cups of water. Cover the lid and let it cook for at least an hour

Step 4

When the water has dried completely and chana has turned soft, add red chili powder and coriander.

Mix well and cook for two more minutes. Serve with halwa and poori.
