Apple halwa is a hot dessert made with grated apples cooked in ghee, sugar, and flavored with cardamom and saffron. Garnished with nuts! Taste amazing a must try!
4 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored and grated 1/2 cup of sugar 1/4 cup of ghee 1/4 cup of milk 1/4 teaspoon of ground cardamom 1/4 cup of chopped nuts (such as almonds, cashews or pistachios), for garnish
Over medium heat, melt the ghee in a nonstick or heavy-bottomed pan. Now Add the grated apple slices.
Sauté for 5 to 7 minutes, or until they are mushy. Add sugar and combine Until it melts and begins to caramelise.
Now cook for an additional 5-7 minutes. Stir continually add the milk and cardamom powder.
As the halwa forms a mass and starts to pull away from the pan's sides, cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Now serve the halwa in a serving dish, serve hot or cold. Garnish with chopped nuts!
