Peshawari Paneer Tikka is a super flavourful and aromatic dish from the Peshawar region, famous for its spices and smoky flavours. This veggie delight features paneer cubes marinated in a creamy, spiced yoghurt mixture and grilled to perfection.
300g paneer ½ cup thick yoghurt 1 teaspoon besan 1 teaspoon mustard oil 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste 1 teaspoon red chilli powder ½ teaspoon garam masala ½ teaspoon cumin powder ½ teaspoon coriander powder 1 teaspoon lemon juice ½ teaspoon Kasuri methi Salt to taste Butter or oil for grilling Fresh coriander lemon wedges
Whisk the yoghurt until smooth. Add besan, mustard oil, ginger-garlic paste, all spices mentioned, lemon juice, kasuri methi, and salt. Mix well.
Add the paneer cubes to the marinade and coat each piece gently.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Preheat a grill or tawa on medium heat. Grease it with butter or oil.
Place the marinated paneer cubes on the grill or tawa. Grill until they are golden.
While grilling, brush the paneer with melted butter to keep it moist and flavourful.
Garnish with fresh coriander and lemon wedges. Serve hot with green chutney and onion rings.
