The nutritional power of Indian gooseberries is lauded as the tangy and tasty condiment known as Amla Chutney. This tangy chutney is known for its health advantages and may be used to balance the sweetness and spice of a variety of foods.
250 grams Indian gooseberries (amla), deseeded and chopped 1 tablespoon oil 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 2-3 dry red chillies ½ teaspoon turmeric powder ½ teaspoon asafoetida (hing) ¼ cup jaggery or sugar Salt to taste Water as needed
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and dry red chillies. Sauté until the seeds splutter. Add chopped amla and sauté for a few minutes.
Stir in turmeric powder, asafoetida, jaggery or sugar, and salt. Cook until the amla softens.
