Aloo jeera is a versatile dish because you can enjoy it for lunch, dinner, and breakfast. It can be served with parathas, roti, dal, and rice to complete a meal. Here is a quick recipe for you.
2 diced potatoes Salt to taste ½ tsp turmeric 1 chopped green chilli 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tbsp chopped coriander 1 tsp coriander powder ½ tsp red chilli powder ¼ tsp garam masala 2 tbsp ghee or oil
Wash, peel, and dice potatoes into medium-sized bites.
Heat oil in a heavy bottom kadhai. Add jeera to it.
Add turmeric, green chillies, and potatoes. Toss the ingredients and cover the kadhai.
After 10 minutes of cooking and occasional tossing on a low flame, add spices.
Once the spices are cooked, add salt to taste. And let the potatoes get soft and mushy.
Garnish the dish with coriander leaves before serving.
