Craving for something fried and spicy this monsoon? Make aloo chop. Made with mashed potatoes, it goes well with ketchup or any of your favourite chutney.

Ingredients

Inner layer: 3 boiled potatoes, 2 chopped green chillies, 2 tbsp chopped coriander, 1 tsp red chili flakes, ½ tsp garam masala, ½ tsp roasted cumin, ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp mustard oil, ¼ tsp coarse ground coriander, 2 tbsp corn starch. Outer layer: 1 cup gram flour, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp red chilli, 1/2 cup water, 1 tsp ginger and garlic paste, ½ tsp baking soda

Step 1

Mash the boiled potatoes. Mix in the chilies, coriander, red chili flakes, garam masala, cumin, salt, mustard oil, ground coriander and corn starch. Shape the kababs using your palm.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, mix in gram flour with salt, red chili, and water until loose paste consistency. Mix ginger garlic paste and baking soda to gram flour paste.

Step 3

Coat the potatoes in gram flour mixture and deep fry until golden brown. Serve with chutney.
