Curd and cucumber have a cooling effect on the body, and therefore, even nutritionists suggest adding them to your summer diet routine. One of the ways to consume them together is by making cucumber raita. Here is an easy-to-follow recipe for the delightful accompaniment.

Ingredients

¼ teaspoon roasted cumin powder 1.5 cups curd ½ teaspoon salt 1 medium grated cucumber ½ teaspoon grated ginger ¼ teaspoon chaat masala 1 tablespoon freshly chopped coriander leaves ½ teaspoon finely chopped green chillies (optional) ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Step 1

In a bowl, whisk the curd until its texture is smooth and creamy. Fold in grated cucumber in it.

Step 2

Add spices to mix like roasted cumin powder, black pepper powder, and chaat masala. Mix everything.

Step 3

Top the mixture with chopped green chillies, grated ginger, a sprinkle of red chilli powder (optional), and coriander leaves.

Step 4

Keep the raita in the refrigerator to chill for a while.

Step 5

Garnish the cucumber raita with a pinch of cumin seeds powder and black pepper powder.

Step 6

Serve it with curries, kebabs, biryani, or a thali.
