Everyone loves having pizza these days. Even though the toppings have vegetables, the maida base can be unhealthy. To improve on that, here’s a fusion recipe where you can make a moong dal katori pizza.
1 cup split moong dal (yellow lentils), soaked overnight 1/2 cup chopped onions 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers (capsicum) 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes 1/4 cup grated cheese 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste 1 green chilli, finely chopped (optional) Salt to taste 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste) 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon garam masala (optional) 1 tablespoon oil for cooking Chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Drain the soaked moong and blend it to a smooth paste. Add a little water if necessary to make a thick batter.
Add chopped onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste, green chilli, salt, and red chilli powder. Mix everything well to combine evenly.
Place a pan on medium heat and add a few drops of oil into each mould. Fill the moulds with the batter about 3/4 of the way.
Cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Now, add the chopped vegetables and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Sprinkle grated cheese over each pizza. Cover the pan with a lid and let the cheese melt for 1-2 minutes.
Once the cheese has melted, remove the pizza bites from the pan and transfer them to a plate.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with your favourite sauce or chutney.
