Punjabis are often deemed as vivacious personalities, full of life and energy and hard-core foodies too. So no points for guessing that they start relishing from breakfast itself.
This is a delicious combination of a spicy chickpea curry called chole with a deep-fried bread called bhatura. Pair with a tangy pickle, sliced onions and green chillies.
Another fried breakfast combination, this one consists of a flavourful diced potato curry, paired with deep-fried bread called puris.
By now, you would know that Punjabis love their fried food. And the potato stuffed sandwiches dipped in gram flour batter and deep-fried are just another proof of that. Pair with coriander chutney.

The pride of Amritsar and the most popular breakfast in the city, kulchas are stuffed breads that are cooked in a tandoor and served with dollops of butter.
The typical breakfast from any village or small town of Punjab, parathas are popular across North India. Stuffed with a spicy potato mash, the Indian flatbread complements the thick and creamy milk-based lassi quite well.
Made with a gram flour batter, missi roti is a bright-yellow flatbread that is relished with a bowl of curd or a spicy and flavourful vegetable mix.
The desi style of making scrambled eggs is called anda bhurji and it works well with a crispy paratha stuffed with jeera and salt.
Not just an evening delight, the samosas are deep-fried, conical-shaped puff pastries made with a mashed potato and peas filling and drizzled with chickpea curry and tamarind chutney on top.
