Want to make thick curd at home? Don't worry; setting thick curd at home is a simple process. With the right techniques and tips, you can achieve a creamy, rich consistency. Here are 8 tips to help you set thick curd at home easily.
Opt for full-fat milk, as it results in a creamier and thicker curd.
Boil the milk and let it simmer for a few minutes.
Let the boiled milk cool to lukewarm (around 110°F or 43°C).
Use a tablespoon of pre-made yoghurt as a starter.
Stir the starter yoghurt thoroughly into the milk to distribute the cultures evenly.
Keep the mixture in a warm place (like an oven with the light on) for 6–8 hours.
Once the curd has thickened to your desired consistency, refrigerate it for further fermentation.
